3 November 2026

The Global Federation of Insurance Associations (GFIA) has published its 2025–2026 Annual Report, bringing together global industry perspectives on regulatory priorities and evolving risks, and highlighting the industry’s work to close protection gaps and strengthen resilience.

The digital report highlights key developments across the international insurance sector, with contributions from GFIA working group chairs and leading voices from across the world.

In his foreword, GFIA President Stephen Frank calls for closer cooperation between insurers, governments and regulators to address increasingly interconnected risks.

This edition includes two guest opinion articles: Gerry Cross, Secretary General of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), on international cooperation and supervision, and Dennis Noordhoek, Director of External Stakeholder Engagement at The Geneva Association, on insurance’s role in financial security, prevention and resilience.

Articles by GFIA working group chairs cover ageing societies, anti-money laundering, capital, climate, corporate governance and market conduct, cyber, disruptive technology, diversity and inclusion, road safety, structural shifts in life insurance, systemic risk, taxation and trade.

The report brings these perspectives together in an interactive fully digital format.
