GFIA publishes its 2023-2024 Annual Report

GFIA has published its Annual Report, which includes a series of articles touching upon some of the key policy areas impacting the world’s insurance industry today.


The report delves into some of the most pertinent issues facing the sector, highlighting the crucial role the industry plays in society. As GFIA’s President Susan Neely notes in her foreword, "Every day, insurers use their specialised expertise to offer reassurance and financial stability to millions of policyholders around the world. Through its singular voice, GFIA has been helping the world understand that this expertise is needed now more than ever before".


The report covers issues including how the insurance industry’s business model is unique in the financial services; how best to respond to the global challenge of climate change and related protection gaps; as well as issues such as international tax, trade and artificial insurance.


Also included are opinion pieces by external authors:

  • Shigeru Ariizumi, Chair of the IAIS Executive Committee and Vice Minister for International Affairs at the Financial Services Agency of Japan
  • Yoshihiro Kawai, Chairman of the OECD Insurance and Private Pension Committee
