In addition, there were new appointments to GFIA’s ExCo. Bachir Baddou, general manager of the Moroccan Federation of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies, was appointed GFIA’s treasurer, and Toyonari Sasaki¸ vice chairman of the Life Insurance Association of Japan, was appointed regional representative. Michaela Koller, director general of Insurance Europe, was reappointed as secretary general. All mandates are for two years.
Forgeron commented: “I am deeply honoured to have been appointed as GFIA president. Given the challenges our industry faces, my priority will be to ensure that our voice continues to be heard clearly by global standard setters and international organisations, and that the significant contributions made by our industry to society and the economy are recognised. I also wish to thank Recaredo for his strong leadership and the contribution that he has made to our industry during his mandate as GFIA president.”
