GFIA has commented in writing and at the 14 January observer hearing of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors on the confidentiality provisions under ComFrame, the proposed supervisory framework for international insurance groups.
GFIA highlighted why strong confidentiality protections are essential to information exchange at every stage of the ComFrame process, from the identification of an internationally active insurance group to the assessment of sensitive and proprietary issues such as group structure, strategy, governance, enterprise risk management and financial condition. While it supports the existing confidentiality protections in ComFrame, GFIA believes that targeted changes to the draft would strengthen them further.
